Hello,
My name is Simone, and I am your passionate, knowledgeable, and often humorous Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Consultant. With over 15 years in the social work field, I have dedicated my career to mental health and racialized communities. My dedication has led me to be an award-winning entrepreneur, and a co-author in the first of its kind, the ground-breaking Canadian text Africentric Social Work. My goal here is to share my wealth of knowledge and skills, mentor, guide, and advise those just as dedicated to the field and overall humanity, as I am.
My rich work history has taken me to settings such as hospitals, community health centres, educational systems, group homes, associations, shelters, youth mental health agencies, corporate, and government agencies. I am an integrative therapist, and have been trained in CBT, EFT, SBFT, Narrative Therapy, Attachment and Trauma Counselling. My approach, no matter the client, is embedded with the Love Lens™ framework, trauma informed care, attachment, anti-racist, Africentric care, and a holistic lens. My expertise shine in the areas of supporting individuals, couples, and families struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, racial trauma, intergenerational trauma, relationship concerns, trauma, self-esteem/worth, internalized racism, shame, and grief.
Whether you are a new or seasoned mental health practitioner, student or a leader, I have supervised and consulted them all. I am hoping to support you in the best way possible to see you thrive. Allow me to walk alongside you today!!
-Simone Donaldson MSW, RSW
