“When a flower doesn't bloom you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower”. - Alexander Den Heijer
Hello, my name is Jemmelia Morgan and I am a Black female therapist serving in the Ontario region with over a decade of experience dedicated to transforming lives through empathetic counseling, where your personal story, experiences, goals and concerns are at the forefront of our sessions. I have a saying with those who do therapy with me: no perfect people allowed!
My goal is to create a safe and empowering space where individuals and families can thrive. I have had the privilege of building group programs and doing some amazing work with youth, schools and community such as Julliette’s Place, UofT Mississauga, Big Brothers Big Sisters, and ECLYPE Youth Centre.
My journey in the mental health sector has been fueled by my own journey and triumphs towards personal wellness. I specialize in supporting individuals who may be desiring support with depression, anxiety, low-self-esteem, past trauma, family concerns, child/parent relationship issues, perinatal and postnatal issues, self-harm and suicidal ideation. I have had extensive experience support individuals with career goals and developing a stronger sense of personal identity.
My approach blends cognitive behavioral therapy(CBT), solution-focused therapy(SFT), and trauma-informed practices, ensuring a tailored and effective therapeutic experience. Join me on a journey towards self-discovery, resilience, and growth. Whether virtually or in person, I am here to support you in navigating life's challenges and celebrating your successes.
Who Jemmelia Serves: Individuals 12+ and families.
Fun facts about me:
Jemmelia loves spending time with her family, eating (foodie to the core), reading, hiking, a good book and watching Keith Lee TikTok food reviews.
Favorite Agapé Lens Value:
One of the values within Agapé Lens that I value resonates most with who I am is the value of compassion.
We often fail to show compassion to one of the most important people in our life (ourselves!). It's one of the reasons many individuals unfortunately suffer in silence and struggle to seek therapy in hard times. By teaching self-love and grace to our inner critic, we become free to love ourselves and others with more grace, forgiveness and acceptance.
