Anada Treleven
"Healing doesn't mean the damage never existed. It means the damage no longer controls our lives."
–Akshay Dubey
Hello, my name is Anada Treleven. I am a Black female therapist serving children, youth, young adults, and families across Ontario including Ottawa, Toronto, Brampton, Mississauga, and the Greater Toronto Area (GTA), with in-person sessions available in North York.
I have over 20 years of experience in the social work and mental health field supporting individuals and families. My work focuses on working with clients to discover practical ways to care for their mental and emotional well-being so they can feel more like themselves even during the most challenging times.
My goal is to create a safe, empowering, and encouraging space where you can feel supported and understood to handle life with confidence and strength.
Throughout my career, I've worked in group homes, schools, have been a foster home assessor and supervisor, and worked in various roles in child welfare. I have been able to support children, youth, adults and families during times of crisis, helping them strengthen both as individuals and as family units to the best of their ability.
I founded Young Queens, a social skills group for young Black girls, after noticing gaps in interpersonal skills, self-esteem, conflict resolution, and relationship-building through my work. I also co-founded the Kujenga Wellness Project, a nonprofit committed to supporting the BIPOC community where I helped bridge systemic gaps across child welfare, education, and criminal justice by organizing workshops and events that nurtured connection, resilience, and a deeper sense of village.
For me, this work has always been more than a job, it is about walking alongside others during their challenges, nurturing and bringing out their strengths, and guiding them towards healing, resilience, and growth.
